The Home Energy Assistance Target (HEAT) program provides winter utility assistance to low-income households targeting those who are truly vulnerable – the lowest-income households with the highest heating costs, the disabled, elderly, and families with preschool-age children.

Home Energy Assistance Target (HEAT)

This program provides year-round energy and water assistance as well as energy and water-related crisis assistance for eligible low-income households throughout Utah.  It is now time to get applications in for the coming year which begins October 1st.  On-line information and applications are available through the website.

The Home Energy Assistance Target (HEAT) Program assists income-qualified households with energy costs. Households may apply for a one-time benefit per year. HEAT applications will be accepted Oct 1st through September 30th.

Salvation Army Emergency Welfare Services

Salvation Army Emergency Welfare Services assists low income elderly, disabled, veterans, and families catch up on past due bills and avoid utility shut offs. To qualify for the program the household must be below the 150% federal poverty line.  

Guidleines: If utilities are shut off they cannot help you. With the beginning of HEAT no help will be given unless they have a 48 hour shutoff notice/ they must also have an appointment scheduled with heat to receive services.
